My baby usually eats somewhere between 2-3 pm so I turn on the TV. Unfortunately the only thing on is either a soap opera that I hate or "Bringing Home Baby". Today's episode made me really grateful for my husband.
When I was pregnant my husband cooked a lot....and I mean a lot... helped me to clean and did most of the cleaning toward the end of the pregnancy. After I gave birth he did the crowd control, got up with me at night to change the baby's diaper before I fed the baby, and cooked me breakfast every single morning. He is still cooking breakfast and he does the bath tubs (I don't do bath tubs, part of the marriage contract).
The reason I am now grateful because after watching this show I realize that there are a lot of unhelpful husbands that still live in a 1960's world where the woman gives birth immediately comes home and cooks the husband dinner. Or in the case the woman who just had major abdominal surgery came home put her 3 year old to bed and fed the twins by herself while the unhelpful husband "got some sleep" in the next room. Right. If that isn't bad enough he gets up at 4. To help? Nope. To go work out because "I am a morning person and feel good this morning".
Okay. More grateful than ever.
Well. The baby is happy and my helpful husband is coming home soon....maybe I should make him some brownies.
