Cleaning Out the Closet

The last 4 fall clothing seasons have been hard. I've either been pregnant or have had a baby with a nursing post-partum body that didn't fit into the clothes. Then somehow today when I was trying things on these old clothes morphed. They were slightly out of style and gotten too short. Wait, maybe I have just gotten bigger. Sigh. Either way, it was time to let go of some of the old favorites. Four years is too long. It was like tossing aside old friends. You know, like in Toy Story II. The sad, sad song of how the doll got tossed out.

I had a fashion-conscience friend come over and help me clean out my closet today. She helped make the tossing easier. She also gave me helpful hints on how to make my wardrobe more fashionable and how I could accessorize. I have a long way to go. That, and no clothes in my closet. I think it was because I had the appearance of clothes, but no really nice clothes that fit any more. I do have a nice pair of jeans and this purty recently-bought dress. I feel like I paid way too much, but then again I am going to wear it all fall and winter to our various work functions and shows. At least now when people ask me what I want for Christmas I know what to say. Anything that will help me have more than 2 pairs of pants.

So tell me. Do you think wearing the same pair of jeans 6 days in a row is wrong? Or shall I buy another?

Wear those pants!!! I'm with you...still in the land of two-pairs of jeans. I wear one of them every day. I have, however, acquired some new tops after baby #2 and I've found that it's helped me loads in feeling better about where I'm at in life. Will I ever again wear my 4s? Maybe not, but I can still look cute in 8s, dang it! I love the dress! I'm sure it looks darling on you.

Hahah, I feel your pain, of course. Every time I go through a pregnancy I come back to my closet and wonder what I ever wore, because none of it is really wearable, except for one or two pair of trusty old jeans. Right now I only have two in the rotation. I'm putting off purchasing because I am very hopeful that I'm on the verge of getting back into my smaller sizes soon. :)
