At the doctor the front desk heard his little breaths and sent me right back. The doctor came in and said she would prefer that he be at the hospital. So she called the doctor and we were pre-admitted.
Then started the longest night of deep suction, breathing treatments, and a perky night nurse who didn't have the "let's check the vitals while the baby is awake" thing quite down yet.
The husband and I alternated between a very uncomfortable squeaky chair or the slightly less uncomfortable couch while taking turns holding our raspy baby.
By Saturday we were able to suction with the wall suction (and not the deep tube suction), and then the bulb. So, after one last good lung suction they sent us home.
Home is good. It's comfy. Even if the husband spent most of the last few nights on the couch as he says, "At least it's our own comfy couch!"
I couldn't agree more.
**The baby is doing much better. He still is having trouble sleeping, but that's not really a new thing.
***Please pray he'll start sleeping well so his body can heal faster.
****The toddler is sick now as well so we are going to hole ourselves up for another week. At least there might be a winter storm coming through this week so we'll can enjoy being at home.
****Oh, and thanks to all the friends that have been bombarding us with meals. It has been such a blessing. I cannot even tell you how wonderful it has been not to have to worry about cooking!!!!!!!

You poor dears. I am so sorry for what you are enduring in this season. I wish I could bring you a tasty meal, but I'm so glad you've got friends who are caring for you.
Poor Andersons! I would have panicked if we were sent to the hospital at all w/ Gus' RSV much less at the first breat in the office! So glad he is doing better. You know, I thought we did the right thing breastfeeding like we did and i'll be darned if Gus still isn't sick quite a bit! Makes you wonder if it would have been more without the bmilk?
I'm so glad I'm breastfeeding. I feel like I need to stick with it through the winter because who really wants a sick baby. If he's this sick WITH BF then oh my.
