Snow Day

Today we are snowed in. There is about a foot of snow and it is finally starting to slow down. Now, if we were in Minnesota it wouldn't be a big deal, but we live where they don't believe in using snow plows in the neighborhood. IN fact the small suburb we live in has like one plow and it will take a few days for them to bring it out. The wonderful husband is now trying to shovel our driveway in hopes that we will be able to leave by Friday. I'm rooting for Thursday so I can get the small ones ears re-checked, but I'm not hopeful. Until then we are nice and cozy with a beautiful fire and many provisions.

Last night the husband went to the store for me. He brought home all the stuff that I never buy including: orange juice, 2 bags of chocolate chips, bacon, 2 bottles of red wine, sausage, coke, and the expensive Topeka coffee.  Priorities right? He even bought an enormous amount of things that I usually do buy. Though of course I don't usually buy large crates of eggs, a bag of 12 grape fruit, and huge amounts of apples, but hey, we're set  in case we can never get out right? At least he didn't totally break the grocery budget.

So, now I'm going to go eat my homemade banana bread, cook delicious spaghetti sauce for dinner, and maybe make chocolate chip cookies so I can have them with a glass of wine while we watch a movie tonight. Sigh. I guess the husband was right. We needed all those things.
