Moving

I grew up in one town my whole life and now I have become a nomad. I even have a friend who refuses to write my address in anything but pencil in her address book. It happens gradually. This is how you can become one yourself.

You move out of town for college and move every year to a different dorm room, apartment, house every year. You think you'll "settle down", but realize you need to move back to the home town to get your Masters. Great. Then you move to another city for your first "professional job". Then you move again into a fun house with a good friend. You get engaged and then married and move back to your home town for your husband's summer law internship. Then you move across the country to California where you think you'll be for another few years. Wait there's more, you move to the D.C. area for another internship the next summer and then back to California. Your husband graduates and then you move back to your home town. Breath. Sigh. THEN after you have a baby you find yourself frantically packing to move again for a clerkship, but just for one year.

All that to say.....I am packing....again....except this time with a baby. Why am I wasting time blogging!!!!!!

You poor thing. I know how bad you must want to put your roots down. Moving stinks. As someone who always ends up moving in August I can say that moving in August sucks. Moving in August to Houston where it is really HOT would probably suck as well. I will be thinking of you. You are definitely a trooper but I know that you guys have definitely paid your dues and the reward will be high so concentrate on that! You've come so far!

Packing does stink. Good luck! Phil started his clerkship today! woohoo. And good luck to your E who starts soon, too.
