Back in the Groove

We are slowly getting back in the groove of things. I'm adjusting to our new house and my eyes are slowly getting better. I was regretting having the eye surgery done last week, but this week I'm able to drive and feeling a bit better about life. Things are still fuzzy so I can only pray that my vision will get better. There are worse things in life, so I haven't blogged because it would just come out as complaining. Since I haven't blogged in awhile here is all the random news:

  • I finally got to pick up the boy's first year pictures today and I love them! I'm now busy trying to scrapbook and finish up his first year's album.
  • The boy was diagnosed with allergy induced asthma this week. He has had several attacks this summer and we've resorted to the inhaler. We now have a plan and the doctor wants us to monitor him through the fall when the seasonal allergies are the worst.
  • The boy is learning to walk. He was an early talker and very timid about falling. I thought we might have to do physical therapy, but he is starting on his own much to our relief. He isn't much of a climber, but I know I'll have to put up a baby gate on our stairs sometime this year for my own peace of mind.
  • The husband is back at work and is now in charge of the "fun fund", which means that I'm in charge of the fun fund. Though sometimes I feel this is the the only perk we have as an associate I can't complain. Going out to a really nice free dinner every couple of months is a blessing.
  • My birthday is coming up. Yay!
  • The fair is coming to town this weekend and I love the fair. I have an unabashed love of all things fair that makes snobs run away from me. Why? The food. Oh the delicious funnel cake, kabobs, drinks, and everything fried. I can't wait. I'm sure I'll have stories.

Well. That's all for now! How have you guys been doing?

I've missed you! So sorry TBJ is having breathing problems. Poor kid! You've really had a lot going on. Will catch up soon but I had to weigh in on the fair. I always ask people at work very excitedly what day they are going to the fair and they look at me like "freak". Come on, people! Fried food on a stick! Its not like you can get it everywhere!

My thoughts exactly. I have a whole post planned on the family differences in how to go to a fair when you get married. I've converted the husband though!

Our State Fair is this weekend! We're so going! We love them.

Dang, sorry about your eyes. They've taken quite a while to heal, haven't they?

So sad for baby boy. Glad to hear things are settling in for you. I can't believe your eyes have taken so long to recover. That must be so frustrating.

Have fun at the fair. I love fair food. Mmmm....transfats!

Another thing...if that profile pic really is Elliot and James...it's just the cutest picture in the world. I hope you blow one up to poster-size and put it in your living room. Absolutely adorable! I had no idea Elliot was into All Stars.

Lyric-
We actaully did just that with the picture! You'll have to come see it. I am trying to figure where it looks best in the house, but it is of the boy and E.
